China International Conference in Macroeconomics To promote academic research and international exchange in macroeconomic theory and China’s macroeconomic issues, Professor Miao Jianjun from Zhejiang University (formerly of Boston University) took the lead in founding the China Forum of Macroeconomic Research (CFMR) and the China International Conference in Macroeconomics (CICM) in 2018. The inaugural conference was successfully held on June 23-24, 2018, in Beijing, hosted by the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. The PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University, and the China Forum of Macroeconomic Research co-organized the first conference as joint founding organizers.Since then, the conference has been hosted annually by different universities in Mainland China and Hong Kong, with the hosting institution covering the conference expenses. The selection of the host institution is determined by the council of the China Forum of Macroeconomic Research. The conference consists of parallel academic sessions, with English as the official language. Policy forums may also be considered, inviting policymakers and experts to engage in discussions on macroeconomic issues pertaining to China and the world. The primary topics of discussion include economic growth and development, economic cycles, monetary economics, consumption and investment, income and wealth distribution, labor markets and employment, the real estate market, macrofinance, international finance and trade, structural transformation and industrial policy, monetary and fiscal policy, economic dynamics theory and numerical methods, and macroeconometric techniques, among others. |
